Student Opportunities

As our young adults are searching for engaging educational opportunities and preparing for the next stage of life, there are some excellent new student opportunities out there offering support.

Students these days are immersed in social media, waiting for the Snap ding, going down rabbit holes of emotional stress they can’t find their way out of.

As parents, we need to encourage our kids to seek out healthy activities, get their hands dirty, help our neighbors and re-engage in every day life. Part of this process is talking to our kids about their future.

Alaska’s rural youth are so capable, so impressive in their ability to tackle tough situations. As adults, we have to foster their ability to grow, to build and fix things, to prove themselves, to be resilient and self-confident.

Do you know a phenomenal hard-working young adult, looking to better themselves? Please talk with them about the new and improved Alaska Performance Scholarship. Talk to them about why their Freshmen and Sophomore grades matter. Give them something to work hard for, look forward to.

Alaska recently adopted new legislation expanding the opportunities for our youth to earn excellent scholarships for education beyond highschool, both for university and career technical education (CTE) paths! How does $7,000/year in support sound?

If our kids can’t envision their path forward, they suffer, wondering where they fit in Alaska’s future. We need each and every one of our young people to engage in education, and to engage in a discussion about where they want to be in 5yrs, 10yrs.
